🔒 Privacy by Design
RechargeChain is built with privacy as a core principle. We don't collect personal data. The protocol operates on decentralized infrastructure without centralized data storage.
1. Information We Don't Collect
RechargeChain is designed to minimize data collection. The core protocol does NOT collect:
- Personal identification information (name, address, ID)
- Email addresses or phone numbers
- IP addresses (transactions are peer-to-peer)
- Location data (beyond what's needed for offline P2P)
- Transaction history (stored only on your device and the blockchain)
2. Website Analytics
This website (the landing page you're viewing) may use privacy-respecting analytics to understand visitor behavior. If analytics are enabled:
- No personally identifiable information is collected
- No cookies are used for tracking
- Data is aggregated and anonymous
3. Blockchain Data
When you use the RechargeChain protocol, your transactions are recorded on a public blockchain. This data includes:
- Wallet addresses involved in transactions
- Transaction amounts and timestamps
- Smart contract interactions
Note: Blockchain data is public and immutable. While wallet addresses are pseudonymous, they may potentially be linked to real identities through blockchain analysis. Use with appropriate caution.
4. Local Device Storage
The RechargeChain mobile application stores data locally on your device:
- Wallet keys: Stored in hardware-secured enclave (TEE/StrongBox)
- Transaction history: Stored locally for your convenience
- Settings and preferences: Stored locally
This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly export it.
5. Peer-to-Peer Communications
For offline trades using Google Nearby Connections or libp2p:
- Communications are end-to-end encrypted
- No central server records or stores these communications
- Peer discovery may involve temporary sharing of device identifiers
6. Third-Party Services
The RechargeChain website may contain links to third-party services:
- GitHub (source code hosting)
- Discord, Twitter, Telegram (community platforms)
- Block explorers (transaction viewing)
These services have their own privacy policies. We are not responsible for their data practices.
7. Children's Privacy
RechargeChain is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 18 (or the legal age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect information from children.
8. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights including:
- Right to access your data
- Right to rectification
- Right to erasure (where technically possible)
- Right to data portability
Since we don't collect personal data, most of these rights apply to data stored on your own device, which you fully control.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date.
